I have personally found that volunteering and mentoring at 2nd Chance Farm isn't just walking the kids through tough times and seeing them grow. It has also helped me grow in my walk with the Lord, having a real relationship with him more and seeing his master plan unfold for each one of our kids (and myself) in our time at the farm.

When I found out my son was able to start at Second Chance, I didn't know what to expect. As a single mother working second shift, I knew at the very least I wouldn't worry as much about my son while he was at the farm. My son had been showing a trmendous amount of anger, aggression, and hatred towards others. As the weeks went on, my son look forward to attending his weekly sessions at the farm! He was so excited when he talked about his time athe farm each week. Carrie helped him make connections between the care of horses and everyday life. Carrie and Kevin make Second Chance such a wonderfully Christ-centered atmosphere that gives kids many opportunities to open up a talk ot someone if they need to.

I have been truly been blessed to be a blessing while serving at Second Chance Farm. Sharing the life changing power of our God with the youth of this area has been so exciting. At Second Chance Farm, God takes the lead. As a result of submitting to His perfect will, we have witnessed many changed lives. Just to see the excitement and anticipation on each youth's face as they arrive at the farm is beyond words. Being able to share Christ with others is such a "Thank you God" moment. I thank God for Second Chance Farm!

At the farm, I learned patience because horses can be stubborn and you learn to not care about that, but to care about how pretty they are. It has helped me to be more patient with people. I am now more kind to people like my little brother. I learned responsibility.
